You have decided to get married and you are now embarking on the first steps of your wedding planning process. You feel disorganized and you don’t know where to start.
The first step you would probably want to do is to pop out to the nearest bookshop, grab a folder or binder, folder separators and start a wedding planning file. You would want to file all your research, clippings, magazine cut-outs, photos, wedding inspirations, wedding tips and also your to-do list in this file.
Next, you should label the file separators with the various key planning items, so that you can stay organized and file the information in their respective sections including:
Pre-planning
Date Selection
Initial Guest List
Budget
Timeline
Wedding type / theme
Wedding Planner (if you decide to hire one)
Getting down to the details
Ceremony and reception venue
Gown & Suits
Jewellery
Wedding Shoes
Photography
Videography
Makeup and Hair
Flowers & Venue Decoration
Entertainment
Wedding Stationery & Invitations
Wedding Favours
Wedding Cake
On your big day
Actual Day Run Down
Helper List
Final Guest List
Seating Arrangements
Speeches
Etc
You may also require more sections, depending on the type of wedding you are having.
Once you have that sorted out, you are ready to roll and get the research going.
