Before you you start sourcing for your music, your should check with the people who will be renting your reception venue to you, if there are any music restrictions. Most venues are generally quit easy-going, but certain locations could have stringent requirements when it comes to music selection.

Church Reception
Most church ceremonies stick to traditional, religious wedding music. A church organist will provide most of the music while a man and a woman will typically form a duet and during the ceremony.

Wedding Reception
The bride and the groom will usually have to make a decision between recorded music and live music. Whichever you choose, remember to check with your venue if there are any licensing requirements regarding broadcasting of copyrighted music and songs.

If you choose to play recorded music, you can opt to hire a disc jockey or to have the venue play the pre-recorded playlist

The advantage of hiring a DJ is that you can request to play all your favourite songs in the play list. Yet it is versatile enough should your guests to make song requests.

One last tip: Remember to keep the ambience alive by keeping the music going. You should prepare a playlist of background music when meals are served, when the bride and groom are making their rounds and even during the interval when the musicians are having their break! Now let the music roll!
