Unique and Unusual Wedding Games

If you have ever been a bridesmaid or jie mei, playing wedding games would not be new to you. If it is your first time, then you are in for some great fun!

Unique & Unusual Wedding Games

Why are wedding games played?

It is believed that wedding games originated because the bride’s family and friends were reluctant to have their dear daughter or friend married off. They wanted to ensure that the man who would marry her is worthy of her. Therefore, the groom would have to pass several tests set out by her family and friends. And only after passing these tests, would he then be deemed suitable to marry the bride.

Thinking of games can be great fun. I had a ball of a time when I was planning my cousin’s and several of my close friends’ wedding.

I stumbled upon a wedding game website which I particularly like. Bridal Shower Games A to Z boasts of many unique and unusual wedding games which can easily be downloaded. Unlimited copies can be printed out from your own desktop printer, making it suitable not only as wedding games, but also as bridal shower games.

Test the groom’s and his brothers general knowledge with the Bridal Trivia Game. Perhaps you can test how much the bride and groom know each other with The Newlywed Game. If you like something more interesting, how about getting the groom and his brothers to play the Opposites Attract Word Search Game? To make it more fun and exciting, you can even “punish” the groom and his brothers by making them perform forfeits if they fail to provide the correct answers within the stipulated time!

Bridal Shower Games A to Z has many more game options. I’m sure you would be able to find a game that suits your party!

If you had some newfangled wedding games to share, please feel free to drop me a note!
