Wedding Budget Saving Tip Of The Week #6: Serve Champagne For Wedding Toasts

Serving bubblies during your wedding is lovely. But because it is so easy to drink, you can easily overspend on the wedding budget for your drinks!

Wedding Budget Saving Tips - Little Wedding Diary

Instead of  serving champagne throughout the course of your reception or banquet, consider serving other drinks. Reserve the champagne and serve it at the time to toast the wedding couple.

Wedding Budget Saving Tip Of The Week #5: Recruit Your Friends

You may wonder if you really need to hire a wedding co-ordinator, especially if you are on a tight wedding budget. While it is a good-to-have, you could possibly manage without one by simply recruiting your friends!

Wedding Budget Saving Tips - Little Wedding Diary

Round up a few close girlfriends. Maximize their strengths by assigning them tasks you know they will handle with ease. If you have a friend with great interpersonal skills, have her liaise with the banquet manager. If a friend is great with punctuality and timing, have her organize the flow of events.

Best of all, it’s a great way to turn your stressful preps into a event of fun with the gals!

Wedding Budget Saving Tip Of The Week #4: BYO Dresses

Having your each of your bridesmaid wear the same bridesmaid dress can be loads of fun. But it can be costly if you have it tailored individually.

Wedding Budget Saving Tip #4:
BYO Dresses

Wedding Budget Saving Tips - Little Wedding Diary

Instead of wearing the exact same outfit, inform your bridesmaids of the colour theme. For example if your theme is “Lavender-licious”, ask the girls to pick out their favourite bridesmaid’s dress in a shade of lavender and you will pay for it. This allows them to select a dress they would possibly wear again. At the same time, it maintains a consistency to your wedding theme. Psst! It’s cost effective too!

And if you are not sure where to begin, have a look at our lists of  International boutiques or Singapore boutiques!

Wedding Budget Saving Tip Of The Week #3: Back To Basics

Many wedding couples feel that a wedding without professional wedding photography is not complete. But hiring a professional wedding photographer can form a large part of your wedding budget.

Wedding Budget Saving Tip #3:
Back To Basics

Wedding Budget Saving Tips - Little Wedding Diary

Most photographers offer a basic package plus additional services. These include prints, photobooks or photo montages. Rather than ordering the entire works, book a basic photography package instead.

If your photographer shoots in digital format, discuss with him or her to have all the digital files returned to you. Your photos can then be printed at a photo lab. This ensures that you will have the photographer’s professional expertise, yet enjoy savings off the prints.

If you are unsure of where to begin your photographer search, be sure to check our directory listing of photographers!
