DIY Flowers: How to make a wedding corsage or boutonniere

One of the little details that I often take notice of is the wedding corsage or boutonniere that the family wears at the wedding. Sure, it may seem like a small minor detail, but the cost of having it made can easily add up.

You could make your own boutonniere, all you require are the following items:

Your favourite flowers
Matching leaves

Time

With the above materials, head over to Video Jug for some great instructions on how to easily create these boutonnieres.

Traditionally boutonnieres are designed using fresh flowers. While they look beautiful, they would not be as lasting as silk or artificial ones. And if you are planning to make a whole lot of them you may want to consider using artificial ones!

One great idea that I came across was origami corsages. Michelle from Lunatiger creates these gorgeous boutonnieres and bouquets using origami. They are so beautiful I could not help looking at the photos over and over again. Head over to her etsy shop and check out her designs! Plan early and you could have her make and send it off to you!
